Copperdale provides a regular and reliable Food Route service for all people suffering hardship and poverty in the Manchester area. We make no charge for this service. We have two vehicles on the road providing this service 7 days a week. Local people are involved at every stage of the process from pickup to distribution helping to provide local autonomy, greater self worth and just as importantly making sure the food goes exactly to the places it is most needed. We work with 50 plus families and individuals on a weekly basis which amounts to about 300 people a week. We own a 10 bedroom hostel and a community activity centre based at the heart of Wythenshawe. Our premises are EHO Registered and have a 5 Food Standard Rating. Copperdale was responsible for introducing the very first Fare Share Scheme into Manchester in 1996 which we ran independently for 10 years before passing the project over to Emerge in 2006. We have received many community awards including the overall Pride of Britain Award, the Pride of Manchester Award and more recently the Life Time Achievement Award.

We are a community response hub for the residents of Partington, Carrington and Warburton, working to ensure that every single member of our community is cared for. Whether this involves accessing healthy food, collecting prescriptions, feeding their pets, or financial support with utilities we want to make sure that no one is missed. We work to provide such services as food deliveries and donations, signposting to additional services and providing well-being checks where needed. In addition, over the coming weeks we will be opening a community shop to further support our local community, providing essential items such as healthy food and household cleaning products, at low cost to local residents. This is where we hope your support can come in as we look to continue supporting our community through weekly food parcels to those families with the greatest financial need and as we begin to stock the community shop.

Our Mission At Betel UK, we're on a mission to transform lives through faith, community and hard work. We provide a safe and structured family-like environment, offering peer support to help individuals overcome the challenges they face. Our Approach Our unique approach doesn't rely on clinical programs or on-site doctors. Instead, we offer a supportive environment where residents are paired with brother- or sister-like mentors. For those in need, we work with medical specialists to provide medically assisted detox, followed by peer-led support. We provide a stable, consistent environment that promotes making daily choices towards freedom. Our Impact Today, Betel residences across the globe host more than 2,400 individuals seeking recovery, offering them a path to healing and independence. Our Locations We have several centers throughout England and Scotland, including Birmingham, Nottingham, Derby, Manchester, Hexham and Motherwell. Our residences are drug- and alcohol-free, providing training in life and employment skills, all at no cost. Our Redistribution Model We are a residency, and people join us to live for the duration of the 12 - 18 month programme. We provide all of the meals, drinks and snacks each day for our residents. That starts with breakfast, some men go out to work and take a packed lunch, some eat lunch on site, and then the evening meal. All drinks and snacks in between are provided as well. The men take turns and responsibility for preparing the meals for the community.
