Macduff Primary School
Macduff, UK
We are a large community primary school with a large nursery. Our school is proud to serve the fishing community of Macduff, population around 4500, and the surrounding rural area. Macduff Primary School is a learning community - a place where children, families, professionals and our community can learn together. Our school vision is for everyone to ASPIRE - to Reach for the Stars! Community links are a valued part of school life. Our school is used for a range of community activities, including after school sports and activity clubs. Macduff Primary School has a very supportive Parent Support Group and Pupil Council. These groups support school improvement activities and raise additional funds to provide many extras for the pupils in the school and their families. Our school provides many opportunities for our children and families, we endeavour to support our children and families with nutritional, balanced diets by providing annual health weeks for children, Christmas food hampers for our families to collect, breakfast clubs to encourage a nutritional breakfast setting our children for a good day ahead, Community cosy Café for our local residents, involving our P6/P7 children. Our Cosy Café is in partnership with our local church and we often provide school grown vegetables for distribution. We also work in partnership with local businesses to donate a variety of food, clothing and home essentials to our children and families. With thanks to our consistent support from local businesses, we can educate our children with not only awareness and education about nutritional meals but provide these meals for our families in need.
