How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, ALDI has donated surplus food, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Coalville Children's Centre Community Fridge

Coalville, UK

North West Leicestershire Children’s Centres have opened a Community Fridge at our Coalville Children and Family Centre! The Community Fridge initiative was started in Swadlincote and now they are opening up around the country. The idea is that shops and individuals can donate unsold but perfectly good food (before its use by date) that can be used by other people in the community. We aim to help people in need in the Coalville and surrounding area and decrease food waste at the same time. A win win situation!!

Charnwood Community Fridge - Children and Family Wellbeing Service

Loughborough, UK

Being part of the Community Fridge Network, our Charnwood Community Fridge is completely a non-profit/voluntary service that is dedicated to reduce food waste and support community resilience. Our Community Fridge is run by volunteers. Unlike conventional food banks, our Community Fridge is open to all, free of charge, and anyone can contribute to, or use food from the fridge. We collect donated food from local supermarkets, other local businesses, producers and private household, preventing waste by making it available to anyone in the Loughborough and surrounding areas. Our project operates from: Shelthorpe Family Help (Previously known as Shelthorpe Children & Family Wellbeing Service - CWFS): Woodthorpe Road, Loughborough, LE11 2NF. Located within the Shelthorpe Family Hub and share the site with Lift Beacon School/nursery, Charnwood Community Fridge has been a source of support for so many more vulnerable families and a meaningful space for people to socialise, reduce isolation and enjoy a sense of community.
