ALDI CUMBERNAULD - CASTLECARY WAY

We are a group who like to reduce landfill waste by collecting and giving to the wildlife we take care of at the farm. The farm is 30 acres including forest land we have a great wildlife population on the farm. We also let injured foxes return to the wild from the farm by the SPCA, we have helped release 16 foxes. We also donate our manure to people growing fruit and veg. We will help free of charge to load it for them too. we collect seeds from old fruit and veg so nothing goes to waste. we help injured animals and foster ones for rescues to help find new homes. We have a farm in Palacerigg, Cumbernauld which has, for over 20 years, taken foxes from the SSPCA (Scotland's Animal Welfare Charity) which are well enough to be released into the wild. They are fed every night alongside a family of badgers, deer and birds. Our aim is to further reduce waste and we would like to make use of surplus food, where this is not going to local good causes. We would make use of fruit and vegetables that are no longer edible too as these will always contain seeds from which more can be grown. since we started collecting food waste we have managed to feed deer, foxes, badgers, birds of prey which visit the farm daily and horses. We rescue injured wildlife and help them recover here on the farm if its possible.

Welcome to Baird Memorial Early Years Support Unit, we are based within Condorrat, Cumbernauld. Our nursery caters for children 3-5 years old with additional support needs. We plan and implement a play-based sensory curriculum. We have three playrooms within the nursery; each room benefits from a high ratio of staff to support the needs of the children. All children attend nursery 9.15am-3.15pm, term time. We are looking to revamp our nursery garden by creating a painted mural, mud kitchen, water feature wall, plating stations, cosy den and a sensory touch tactile wall. We would be looking for various items to help us create a new and exciting garden for all of the children to explore such as, plants, seeds, paint, guttering, waste pipes, funnels, sand, soil, bark, torches, locks, switches, wallpaper, tarpaulin and paint brushed

The Sacred Heart Kitchen is a non-profit charity organisation solely funded by donations and run by volunteers. We are open every Monday night from 5pm to 7pm and provide a warm welcome for everyone to enjoy a free, 2 course, home cooked, hot meal with tea, coffee, juice and biscuits from 5.30pm – 6.30pm. We also provide free clothes and shoes, and everyone is welcome regardless of their age or circumstances. Our volunteers range from all diverse backgrounds, religious faiths, and ages. We are grateful to have the support of young people (who do a fantastic job serving) from 3 local schools – Greenfaulds High School, Our Lady’s High School and Cumbernauld Academy. They integrate and work well alongside our adult volunteers to provide this much needed service. It’s a great opportunity for young people to broaden their horizons and gain experience in different aspects of what life can bring. We are consistently finding more and more people in need of our help, especially in the current economic climate. There have been many requests for us to provide a foodbank also, so with the help of donations we have started to supply food parcels for people having a meal. We would appreciate any food donations to allow us to prepare hot meals or provide food parcels. We would also welcome any clothes donations.
