THAT offers a foodbank service from our premises in Buckland, Newton Abbot for the whole of Teignbridge District. We operate with 40 partner agencies who signpost people to us. On arrival, claimants are welcomed with tea and biscuits, and given a suitable, bespoke food pack with enough food to last for a minimum of fourteen days. The pack will take account of dietary requirements and allergies as well as personal preferences and cooking arrangements. We support families and individuals who struggle to make ends meet. Our claimants may be street homeless and require food that doesn't need cooking, or staying in a B&B with just a kettle, perhaps a microwave, through to full cooking facilities. As well as food, we offer male and female hygiene packs, sleeping bags, tents and home starter packs for those moving into housing. We will also top up fuel meter keys and cards. We work in partnership with local housing associations, the local Council housing department, the Salvation Army, CAB, schools, doctors and Jobcentre. In addition, agencies for domestic abuse victims, recovering addicts, rehabilitation programmes, community nurses, health visitors, schools, surgeries, etc. all refer people to us. There is no charge to clients for using our service. We now collect surplus fresh food from local shops and we buy in chilled and frozen foods. We cover the whole of Teignbridge district within Devon, we provide food parcels/support for anyone who is in need, we work with many organisations within our district who provide referrals to our food bank, we also provide starter packs where people have been displaced from their homes. Each food parcel we provide is aimed at providing support for 5 days emergency relief. The food parcels offer a balanced diet and include things such as juice, milk, bread, sausages, fresh fruit and vegetables, cakes, tinned produce such as soup, beans, vegetables, rice, pasta, tea or coffee, sugar, cereal, and tinned meat meals. The size of each food parcel is made up based on the size of each family and is carefully put together by one of our 50 strong team of volunteers. Obviously, parcels may vary throughout the seasons depending on what donations are made by the partners that support us. We also supply toiletry packs, cleaning and laundry products subject to availability.

PATH Torbay is a local community, non profit charity. We are run and supported totally by volunteers. We help those who find themselves homeless. Path also support individuals and families at risk of homelessness, vulnerable or in crisis. We also offer support to individuals and families in food poverty across Torbay. PATH provides a food bank, evening hot food and supplies. We signpost to all local responsible charities and local authority services. PATH is also part of the Torbay food Alliance and works in partnership with all other food banks in our local area.
