Project Derby is a community hub, a food bank, and community pantry. It's a safe space for people of all ages. We distribute food donations, surplus food, and cook hot meals for the homeless, and those in need throughout the Derby area. We provide emergency food parcels, and run a shop that sells food at a fraction of the price of shops or supermarkets. Providing this food is vital to our area of Derby, and we get members and volunteers of all ages, genders and ethnicities. We're currently expanding. We are a non-profit organisation, and all the money we do take goes directly back into providing these services for those in need. We work with Food 4 Thought, Costco and other retailers and charities. However, due to our rapid expansion, we need more stock and more suppliers, as the need for these services is growing in the Derby area, as the cost of living rises. We were very exited to be invited by the Aldi East Midlands Area Manager to use your services. They also mentioned collections from Derby based Aldi stores. We are also expanding to provide community outreach and going out to those in need, and homeless people around the city. We have all of our food hygiene and safety certificates, public liability insurance, legitimate legal standing and work closely with Derby Homes, DACP, Derby City Council, The Police, Food 4 Thought and much more. We have seen that you also provide surplus from M&S, Lidl and more retailers, and we would be very interested in receiving surplus from these stores too if that's possible. We need as many collections as possible to keep up with our rapidly increasing demand, and we would love to be a strong routed partner with you moving forward. Aldi mentioned between 4-6 collections a week, but we would take every delivery we can get right now, from every retailer possible. We are reliable, consistent, and are fully established for over 12 years and it's never been busier. We have 15-20 regular volunteers, part time volunteers, drivers and an established strong management team. No Hungry Child was set up in the wake of several Government and NGO reports which revealed some children were returning to school after the summer break malnourished, underweight and, as a result, unable to fully settle back into education for several weeks afterwards. In addition to the reports, many teachers have warned that children who are entitled to free school meals are going hungry during the summer and other school holidays. No Hungry Child has taken up the challenge of reducing the number of children and their families who go hungry in Derby, notably during school holidays, by providing such children at least one nutritious meal a day. We also try to provide a schedule of activity in a safe space during summer and at other vacation times and food parcels for families in need. All donated food and other items will go towards addressing widespread food poverty in Derby. We don't want to create any embarrassment for the children attending so we are approaching schools to give the project information to children on Free School Meals but marketing the project to families as a Summer Activities Programme. For us to complete this objective we need the support of the community of Derby, we need • Volunteers to help out with the making and distribution of food with various roles • Food donations so we can prepare for the July start. • Your donations will fund fresh fruit, bread, meat etc. We do not want to turn any child away so will appreciate any and all help provided for this essential Project.

We are a local community group with the primary aim of reaching out to help people who are most in need. We receive food surplus from supermarkets within the area and provide for people and families who are going through financial difficulties and struggles within our community. Our work is making a real impact in people's lives and offers valuable support where it is needed most by ensuring people have food at their table. I believe that through the simple act of giving we can overcome many problems we can face in life whilst helping others in our neighbourhood through difficult times. Charity is held to be the ultimate perfection of the human spirit, because it is said to both glorify and reflect the nature of God. ... Charity has two parts: love of God and love of man, which includes both love of one's neighbour and one's self. In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul places the greater emphasis on charity (Love).As a community group this is what we endeavour to achieve. Objectives The object of Springwater community group is to carry on activities which benefit the community in particular - Provide Essential Food Supplies: Ensure that struggling families in derby ,burton ,Leicester,Nottingham and surrounding areas receive necessary food supplies, so no one goes hungry due to financial difficulties. - - Reduce Food Waste: Partner with local supermarkets ,Farash and food businesses to collect and distribute food items that are close to their sell-by date but are still safe for consumption, thereby reducing food waste and promoting sustainability. - Foster Community Support: Create a network of volunteers and community members to assist in the collection, sorting, and distribution of food, fostering a spirit of community support and cooperation. - Educate on Food Security: Educate the community on issues related to food security, nutrition, and sustainable practices to empower individuals and families to make informed decisions about their food consumption. - Collaborate for Advocacy: Work collaboratively with local authorities, charitable organisations, and other stakeholders to address the root causes of food insecurity and advocate for policies that support vulnerable populations.
