ICSS - Local Care - Lasting Impact
London, UK
ICSS is a small, grassroots, 100% volunteer-run registered charity operating since 2004. We are a passionate group of volunteers helping children from vulnerable groups, such as refugees and children affected by domestic violence in East London, achieve their full potential through education, and in time, they can understand the value of giving back to society. We also operate a food bank serving referred families, providing food and other essentials.

Our project, launched by Helping Hopes, is a newly registered charity that focuses on assisting homeless individuals, elderly individuals, and those facing unfortunate circumstances. Our primary goal is to provide essential support, comfort, and sustenance to those in need.
What we would like to do:
Our aim is to address the immediate needs of the vulnerable populations we serve. We plan to establish regular food distribution centers where we can provide nutritious meals to homeless individuals. Additionally, we will create support programs for the elderly, offering companionship, assistance with daily tasks, and emotional support to enhance their overall well-being.
The difference our project will make:
Through our project, we aim to make a tangible and positive difference in the lives of the homeless, elderly, and those facing difficult circumstances. By providing regular meals, we will alleviate hunger and contribute to the physical well-being of homeless individuals. Our support programs for the elderly will help combat loneliness and improve their quality of life.
Who will benefit from it:
Our project targets three primary beneficiary groups: homeless individuals, elderly individuals, and those experiencing challenging situations. By focusing on these demographics, we aim to offer assistance to those who are often overlooked or marginalized.
Expected duration:
We envision running this project for at least a few years to ensure sustained support for our beneficiaries. However, the exact duration may be subject to funding availability and the evolving needs of the community.
Raising awareness:
To ensure people are aware of our project and its services, we will employ a multi-faceted approach. This includes utilizing social media platforms to reach a broader audience, as well as distributing leaflets in relevant community spaces, shelters, and local organizations.
Learning and shaping future projects:
Throughout the duration of our project, we will actively seek feedback from both beneficiaries and volunteers. This feedback will help us identify areas for improvement and enable us to refine our services. By analyzing the data and insights gained from our experiences, we can enhance our impact and tailor future projects to better meet the needs of the community.
Project type:
As a newly registered charity, our project is a new initiative that builds upon the mission and values of Helping Hopes. While we do not have a specific project history, we are committed to leveraging our expertise, community partnerships, and the lessons learned from similar charitable endeavors to ensure the success and sustainability of our project.
