The Parish Trust

Caerphilly, UK

The Parish Trust is a Christian based organisation but exists for the benefit of everyone in the local area. The Parish Trust is the umbrella organisation for a number of projects, our largest being the CARE Project which delivers food parcels and pastoral care to those in need. We launched Caerphilly Baby bank in January 2025, supporting expecting and new mothers with essential maternity and baby supplies. We also offer bereavement courses, a data bank for those struggling with digital access and a thriving community of groups and activities for children and young people.

The Wyndham Street Pantry

Cardiff, UK

We are a food pantry serving the community of Riverside, Cardiff and the surrounding areas. We enable members to access good food in challenging economic times, whilst saving food waste in the process. We currently have food donations coming in at different times, from, Fareshare, KFC, Bookers cash and carry, Co- op, Costco, Nando’s, 2 local bakeries, local allotments, cardiff orchards and the Salvation Army. Our centres opening times are Tuesdays 1pm-6pm and Wednesdays 10am-2pm. We are open to all, £5 for around £25 of food. We pay for the delivery of our food from Fareshare, the £5 weekly membership fee covers some of this delivery cost. All the food is donated and shared for free. We identify service users and their needs by advertising through social media, local businesses including Castle Bingo and through schools. Lots of users access from word of mouth and leaflets in community languages. We also offer English Language training, women’s only development groups, volunteer opportunities including access to studying food hygiene and first aid, we host sports groups and the centre is used by various organisations and groups for events.

Hangar Community Hub

Cardiff, UK

We help people live a more positive lifestyle by engaging in a healthy community at our gym. Groups we help include Homeless, Young Homeless people, victims of domestic abuse and young people who are referred by other services. We get lots of positive outcomes and created our Community Hub to provide volunteering opportunities and the feel-good factor of helping others. We have lots and lots of plans for great causes this year! The Hangar Community Hub is located at the Hangar Human Performance Centre, a combat sports and strength gym based in Penarth Road, Cardiff. We offer Sports Training to the local community and we train for fitness, and to compete. However that isn’t all that we offer. Grocery Donations We help people develop employability skills, by volunteering their time at the Hangar Food Pantry. Our volunteers will gain a Level 2 or 3 Food Hygiene Award and learn how to help people through preparing food packages for those in need. We help people learn about nutrition and health whilst they volunteer and they can also get involved in the many activities we offer at the gym. Our world is full of need. We don't always know where that need is, but we can help alleviate some of it by volunteering and helping others. This will always make us feel good! And if you’re looking for a place to volunteer, why not try here? Combat Sports and Strength Training We offer a range of Combat Sports and Strength Training programs to adults, children, and the elderly to improve self-confidence, life skills, social inclusion, healthy living, and overall physical health. Participating in sport helps people gain self-confidence, and a wide range of other skills. Stop by for your next training session!
