Coalville CAN is a Community Benefit Society, based in the centre of Coalville, North West Leicestershire. As a community benefit society, we are dedicated to making Coalville a place where people are proud to work, live and visit. Currently, we run a variety of activities from 'CAN HQ' in the town centre. This includes afterschool activities for children, a tech support group for older people, IT recycling and sharing, and more.

WHERE PEOPLE & NATURE RECONNECT Experiential Learning & Wellbeing In a Natural Woodland Setting. The Deer Wood Trust’s work is based in Deer Wood- a 12-acre mixed deciduous woodland in South Devon. The core ethos of The Deer Wood Trust is conservation and practical, nature-based, experiential learning and well-being. We offer both by donation monthly community events, as well as creative well-being courses priced on a sliding scale. Deer Wood is an Eco-Venue and we hire it to experienced/qualified holistic practitioners for earth-friendly activities that are in keeping with this conservation woodland environment. This is charged depending on the season and on a sliding scale. Our target audience has been built up over the last 8 years and we have liaised with various organisations to ensure that our main beneficiaries can have access to well-being days. The Deer Wood Native Tree Nursery is at the heart of what we do and requires funding to complete the final stages of expansion, so we can more effectively cultivate almost double the amount of trees, as well as increase the biodiversity of both this woodland (as an Atlantic Temperate rainforest remnant) and woodlands across this region and beyond. Devon Wildlife Trust - Wild About Loddiswell Kingsbridge Climate Action Bigbury Net Zero We are seeking funding for: Final Phase of The Deer Wood Native Tree Nursery Extension 2025/26 Objectives: • To increase the productive capacity of our existing native tree and woodland plant nursery from approximately 1200 units going out for planting in the community per year to 2000 or more. • To meet the demand for rare native species and improved biodiversity. To enable The Deer Wood Trust to effectively deliver these objectives we are seeking assistance with some elements of the setup: Infrastructure: * Rare Native species area - specialist facility - to accommodate the rarest local Native Trees * Final area for planting the bare-rooted stock - deer & rabbit-proof fencing, gates and extra irrigation. * Shed to safely house all the tools & equipment - 8x8ft Another important aspect of the work we do is teaching Woodland Horticulture. We wish to develop this idea to safely teach local Primary Schools. WOODLAND HORTICULTURE 4 KIDS Sowing Vital Seeds of Knowledge for the Future in the Hearts & Minds of the Next Generation.
