We distribute surplus food to our families for free, helping to fill stomachs and reduce waste. Where needed we also supply pre-loved uniform, shoes etc. We are always looking for donations of wheeled things for play- suitcases, scooters, pushchairs and things to help us build dens- pallets, tyres, tubes. We can use most things!

Cultivating Community is a unique community enterprise dedicated to reducing loneliness and isolation within our community by fostering nature-based connections and creating inclusive spaces for social interaction. We achieve these objectives through supporting a variety of community-focused initiatives, including a community café, a community garden, and the Community Fridge. Frome Nature Lab is a collaborative project with Loop Community Composting to grow and demonstrate climate resilient gardening. The Victoria Park site is an outdoor seasonal community cafe that provides refreshments with social and active connection in the Park. The cafe has become an integral hub in the park and is used by many community groups to run community initiatives. The cafe provides work skills training for young people who traditionally find the pathway into work challenging. The Community Fridges in Frome has been a main stay for food recycling in our community for nearly 10 years. There are currently two fridges and we hope to support the opening of a third one in 2024 focused on young people and those on free school meals. Our programmes are created in collaborations with local organisations, using lived experience to inform how programmes are developed and reflect the needs of participants. We focus on the quality of the interactions and the opportunities to connect with others in addition to providing purposeful work to ensure participants feel they are an important part of the life of the community.
