No Poverty

We run a range of activities at the centre. We have an Over 55s Lunch Club to reduce isolation in the area, we promote healthy living decisions, and our Step Forward programme gives advice and support on income maximisation, family health, housing, employment and training. In addition to this, we run a drop-in cafe working with different organisations across the borough of Merton to provide information about services that can help local people, providing free tea and coffee, a warm place to sit and social and exercise events. We would love to continue to thrive to support our community even more. Please follow our project and share our work with your community.

Heads2gether is a Community food hub using food supplied from Fareshare, City Harvest, and surplus food collected weekly from local supermarkets – currently operating as food parcel deliveries and collections for free. Supporting local community during Covid-19 crisis, especially those who are vulnerable and isolated. We also support the food hub members by signposting them to local service as per their needs e.g. Citizen Advice Bureau, Community OT, British Red Cross, Croydon gateway team, Early years team, Croydon Drop-in, etc. Our mission is to alleviate poverty and improve the well-being of our community. Heads2gether community Food hub brings together the best elements of a food bank created to assist and support families who have been set back by unforeseen circumstances during and post Covid19, with food and daily essentials. Even though there are a number of food banks in Croydon there is a gap where families or people who are struggling financially ( low income), unemployed or furloughed and not classified as extremely vulnerable or shielding are left behind and starving, hence H2G food hub has been set up to bridge this gap.
