Pulp Friction CIO

Nottingham, UK

Pulp Friction Smoothie Bar CIO is a charity that employs and supports Learning Disabled and Autistic adults. We train our members to prepare, cook and serve fresh food at our Community Cafe at Bestwood Park Church and our canteen at the Joint Nottinghamshire Police and Fire Headquarters. We run regular SuperKitchen social eating events in community venues and offer a small outside catering service. Our Members also run our pedal-powered smoothie bars at public events and in public places. Based in Nottingham, we take our smoothie bar to local events, schools, youth clubs, trade fairs and more. Customers can make their own smoothies whilst having fun and getting some exercise! All our members work at their own pace and to their own strengths in a fun, friendly and supportive environment. With your help, we will continue developing their work-readiness, social and independence skills. We need food donations, money to buy aprons and uniforms, as well as willing volunteers to work alongside our members or give us IT support. Thank you!

Meet, Greet and Eat

Nottingham, UK

The purpose of Meet, Greet and Eat is to provide a safe and integrated environment for individuals with additional needs, those being learning difficulties and/or disability to come together and create a project they can call their own. Through working with surplus food, the individual will be part of a team who will cook, bake and provide light lunches and afternoon teas to the elderly and isolated in the community. This will give the individual the confidence and experience to step up to volunteering, work experience and/or paid employment with other organisations or business.
