Burnt Oak Community Food Bank

Edgware, UK

Burnt Oak Community Food Bank supports local residents enduring financial hardship that results in food insecurity. Initially set up as a pilot scheme in March 2021 by the founder Deepa Chauhan the food bank has exceeded all expectations and to date over 100,000 people have benefited from the the food bank. Burnt Oak Community Food Bank is situated in an area with one of the highest levels of deprivation and is accessed by local residents, the elderly, young families, single parents, refugees & asylum seekers who have limited funds and are struggling financially. The food bank has run primarily through private funding and adhoc donations, the demand for our services has exceeded all expectations and we are in need of support of food donations to distribute at the food bank. We have a group of dedicated volunteers who are able to pick up collections in various stores across Burnt Oak, Colindale, Edgware and surrounding areas.
