Heavens Kitchen In The Community

Dukinfield, UK

Heavens Kitchen in the Community https://www.facebook.com/share/16MK28Ht1u/ Non Profit project, normally self funded except when funding via neighbourly & businesses is offered to us. Our project helps people in our community - homeless, sofa surfing, families in emergency accommodations, some claiming benefits, people on very low incomes, Refugees & Asylum seekers. All our people were identified to us as being in need via other community groups who we support. When we've got an abundance of donations it is distributed to all mentioned, anything left that's non food is given to our local Hospice charity shop. Food we're given is distributed immediately. We don't get help from any other retailers that are not mentioned. We don't charge anything for what we give or do. We also support other local community projects. We are partnered with Aldi Stalybridge, Aldi Hyde, Lidl Denton, M&S Ashton, Sainsbury's Ashton and Curry's Ashton Moss. Currys on the Snipe & Lidl Denton host food bank containers dedicated to HK. We also have B&Q Ashton who donate stuff whenever they can. Besides collecting & distributing food & non food donations, we have linked our long standing defibrillator work to HK. Operating in the community under the Heavens Kitchen Banner . This means our defibrillator work continues since 2014. We can hopefully place more PAD's into our local Towns in the future. We also acquire items via shout outs for our families i.e. clothing, household items to help those who cannot afford things. Currently we're working on Mary Bags which are end of life tote bags - essential items for families staying over in hospital / hospice self care packages in beautiful bags. Heavens Kitchen supports our local We Shall Overcome non profit organisation run by Pauline Town MBE. If we get enough groceries from surplus then we share with her for the homeless. Personally HK buy chocolate / cereal bars / crisps / snacks / cakes etc for the 150+ homeless and underprivileged people in Tameside who collect food parcels from WSO on a daily basis we help provide our support to WSO for one day a week. We support 14 residencies that have struggling people / families who are seeking asylum or who are refugees & a couple on extremely low income. Added to this we also support 22 emergency housing residencies that all host several people in each self contained bedsit. We also support the food banks in Tameside with food collections and from the supermarket customer donation points. We would love some help with funding to help buy supplies in a more structured way to ensure a regular weekly supply for all our people / families i.e. good fresh varied in date food. Funding when we get it, is spent within no time at all. All the support we get is a very welcome source that helps us deliver to people in need. Looking forward to any help available Dawn

Breaking the waves foundation

Manchester, UK

Breaking the waves foundation (BTWF)was founded in November 2020 after our founder had been assisting residents of Failsworth with food parcels, non essential food items and preloved clothing and toys since the beginning of COVID-19. Due to the demand we have now set up BTWF and are currently supporting families on a weekly basis. We also provided those families in financial hardship with gift parcels for their children to open on Christmas Day, this was with the support of Axiom and local community groups. Please feel free to look at our FB or Instagram page for further information/pictures. We wish to expand and not have to decline any request for support and the only way we can do this is by having continued and regular support from local businesses. We therefore would consider gifted items of food and toiletries. Thank you
