How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, ALDI has donated surplus food and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Hearts & Hands CIC

Stafford, UK

Hearts and Hands Stafford is a community led non profit organisation; working in the community in Stafford and the surrounding area Helping primarily those affected by hours/reduced income, self employed, part time workers and those who have slipped through the net and need a bit of help. Assisted by local supermarkets supplying surplus food that would normally go to waste and distributing free of charge to the community. We collect and distribute food parcels at no charge to those who are in need. Any donations that come to us will never be sold on for any profits. Hearts and Hands collection points are scattered throughout the area, outside the homes of community minded people who collect dry food and tinned food goods to add to the stock at Hearts and Hands to be given freely. Non food donations, household items and clothing are also collected and given back out into the community or to other charities. We have had many success stories in helping people with their homes who are most vulnerable, we have helped to clear, clean, decorate, refurnish and carpet homes. We do this with the help from the local communities. Working with the blessing of several Stafford Borough Councillors and registered with Support Staffordshire and SCVYS Hearts and Hands Stafford is going from strength to strength with strong committee and great team of key volunteers. Our motto; never look down on someone unless you are helping them up!

Random Acts Of Kindness, Uttoxeter, ST14

Uttoxeter, UK

We were established in 2020 as recycling group to help with landfill waste, and it grew from there. We help families in the surrounding area with food parcels and other items if needed. We rent a room in uttoxeter town centre to store the food bank items, at the Globe Eco foundation centre. We identify who can use us by them simply asking us for help or if someone asks on their behalf. We do not charge any fees for our service. We have been known to reach out to Uttoxeter Lions if we need any help sourcing some items for people and vise versa. We do a fundraising event twice a year at the Uttoxeter lions events - Lark in the Park and Christmas Cracker, plus other smaller ones through out the year. The large ones we contact local businesses for donations towards a huge raffle, which is always a massive success and really helpful. At Christmas and Easter we do appeals, where we get nominations from people who feel they know someone who deserves something extra or maybe they are going to have nothing at all to open on these holidays. We make all of these hampers. At Christmas they will include various items like toys, clothes, beauty products, chocolates, sweets and loads more. Then Easter eggs for all the nominated children. We also do eat well in summer, where we fundraise and the food parcels are to include fresh produce, we have postponed this for this year until Autumn/Winter. Neighbourly is the only place where we would collect any food surplus from retailers. We don't do just food parcels, people can come to us to ask for help with anything, we have helped with people fleeing due to DV or helping people who are moving home with nothing. In the summer 2025 we also ran an eat well campaign. This meant that 23 families had fresh food for up to 3 weeks, a long with activity packs for the children.
