We are a charity organisation: Dominion House international (Dominion Gospel Church). We have a food bank called Joseph's Storehouse, serving people in need in Thornton Heath and its surrounding area with food and toiletries. This can be found at 280 Brigstock Road, Thornton Heath, CR7 7JE. It started 3 years ago to support our church members and the elderly among the church in home delivery form. During the pandemic it has been extended to the community, who are able to come to us to collect or to request delivery if they are unable to come in. Presently, we have about 40 to 50 people we serve every week and the turn up is increasing weekly. Currently, the church and some of its members are funding Joseph's Storehouse but it is not enough to cater for the turn up every week. We would be very grateful if you and your team could help/support this food bank, we do not want to stop as the people we serve depend on the food bank for their daily provisions. I came across your organisation's great work in supporting charity organisations like ours in Croydon and its surrounding areas. I am not sure if we are eligible but we would be very grateful if your organisation could support us so that together we can build a better Croydon. image.png

REHOBOTH COMMUNITY OUTREACH CLUB located 1-18 Allwood Close, Sydenham SE26 4JP is a charity and it has been entered onto the Register of Charities with the Registered Charity Number 1168822. Rehoboth Community Outreach club started reaching out to vulnerable families in 2013, offering befriending, parenting & life skills training. Over time the services evolved expanding to offer mentoring to young people, employment skills training and a food bank. In March 2014 Rehoboth started receiving requests for support with addressing the increasing issue of food poverty amongst the single homeless living in hostels and the local street homeless, this saw the launch of the Community Lunch Club. Initially the lunch club was feeding 20 people every Monday with a 2 course hot meal. But this number quickly grew to 150 people a week when Rehoboth partnered with Miriam Lodge providing meals to their most vulnerable homeless residents. The partnership has expanded and Rehoboth community outreach club “The Lunch Club” now deliver 200 meals every Monday across 2 hostels. In addition, we have some homeless people living locally in the community who walk-in and collect their meals. The feeding programme also provides a soup social, with home cooked vegetable and chicken soup with rolls to the residents in the hostels on a Friday. The generosity of our local donors business and others in neighbouring community, with financial donations from the church membership and individuals, make it possible to provide our services free to vulnerable individuals and families. The community outreach service is facilitated by a team of 25 volunteers who cook, serve food, clean, deliver the meals, and provide the befriending, mentoring and training activities. Rehoboth hopes to double its feeding programme to 300 meals a week by the end of 2018; to support at least 50 homeless people to capacity build their employment and life skills, enhancing their potential of accessing employment, education and training opportunities. The Rehoboth Community Outreach Club aims are to contribute to breaking the generational cycle of poverty and deprivation within families, inspire hope & healing in the heart and soul of vulnerable individuals and communities and encourage peace, unity and respect across generations. We seek and appreciate further financial, time and resource donations that enable us to meet our vision of UK communities free from food poverty and benefiting from sustained upward social and economic mobility for everyone. COOH helps children, young people and families across Lewisham, Southwark, Lambeth and Greenwich strengthen their wellbeing, confidence and stability through trusted community programmes and practical support. Come Out of Hiding – The Lighthouse Network CIC (COOH) is a Christian organisation and we welcome and serve people of all faiths and no faith. Founded in 2015 and incorporated as a Community Interest Company in 2018, we provide safe, welcoming spaces where people can connect, receive support, learn new skills and take part in opportunities that may otherwise be out of reach. Our programmes include: • Let’s Get Messy – creative, wellbeing and movement activities for children aged 3–10. • STEPs: Let’s Level Up – mentoring, employability, enterprise, financial capability, leadership and life-skills activities for young people aged 11–17. • Let’s Get Moving – physical activities, community trips and family experiences. • Let’s Talk – mental and emotional wellbeing conversations and safe spaces. • Let’s Get Fed – food, basic essentials and practical support for households experiencing hardship. • Let’s Be Light (for those who choose this) – Christian leadership, volunteering and community social action. We also provide community drop-ins, family forums, community meals, seasonal holiday activities, employer visits, work experience and signposting to other services. Our whole-family approach recognises that children and young people are more likely to thrive when their parents, carers and wider household are also supported. COOH has delivered more than 6,700 participant hours and has built trusted relationships with local residents, community organisations, NHS services, housing providers, businesses and funders. The support we need most includes surplus food, toiletries, household essentials, school supplies, clothing, refreshments and materials for our activities. We also welcome volunteers who can support youth and children’s sessions, community drop-ins, food distribution, mentoring, employability workshops, events, administration, fundraising, communications and professional advice. Financial donations help us respond when a family needs urgent assistance, cover activities and travel for children and young people, provide welcoming community sessions and ensure trained staff and volunteers are available to deliver our work safely.
