Warming Up The Homeless

Bexhill-on-Sea, UK

Our mission is the relief of poverty among the street homeless/rough sleepers and homeless through the provision of items to support basic needs such as sleeping bags, ground sheets, survival sheets, blankets, clothing, food and toiletries. We also aim to improve the individual’s welfare through our welfare and advocacy team.We endeavour to prevent harm to health by referring to emergency and similar services as and when necessary throughout Hastings, Bexhill, St. Leonards, Eastbourne and Lewes. We provide a satellite food bank delivering in excess of 200 food bags a week to rough sleepers and the vulnerably housed homeless. We also have a baby bank and a Vegan bank plus our Homestart scheme, set up to provide those in emergency and temporary accommodation who often have nothing, not even a kettle. We provide these items. We work closely with our local Women's refuges and emergency accommodation hostels and provide books and toys to the children.

Replacement RIB/Safety Boat

Eastbourne, UK

Eastbourne Sea Cadets currently have two safety boats which are both over 20 years old. We are looking to fund raise £10,000 so that we can replace one of these with a new boat which will offer the cadets and other youth groups who sail with us better protection when they are on the water. With the new boat we will also be able to offer the cadets and other groups the chance to learn powerboating skills and over time they will be able to obtain a recognised national qualification.

Supporting families with disabled children

Brighton, UK

Amaze is your local charity who provide vital support and connection for families with disabled children and young people in Sussex. To help our community, we need your support. Every pound you raise for Amaze helps children and young people living with disability to thrive. You’ll be helping friends, neighbours and people you know access expert advice, practical support and a community of other families with similar experiences. It costs three times as much to raise a child with disability. In Brighton & Hove and East Sussex, 1 in 6 families deal with the daily challenges of supporting a child with a disability or special educational needs (SEND). Amaze is unique, in that you don’t need a formal diagnosis of a disability to benefit from our support. With your help, we can be there for local people offering connection, understanding and an expert hand to guide them through the maze of new challenges they face.
