The Co-operative Food - Reigate, London Road

We have three hubs located in central Dorking, Goodwyns and Leatherhead. where we put good, surplus food which local people can take. Our mission is to reduce surplus food from being wasted and to make it available to our community. We collect daily from local supermarkets, and also collect food from FareShare, for which we pay a fee. Since 2017 we have saved 1,737 tonnes of food from being thrown away! COVID We changed our operation to food parcel delivery to people referred to us by statutory agencies and the community. We now have 3 static fridge sites: Dorking, Goodwyns and Leatherhead and we have a Mobile Fridge on the road serving rural Mole Valley. The point is to reduce food waste, and happily, we are also reaching those in our community who find themselves in food poverty.

Stripey Stork believes that every child deserves the same start in life. Each year, this local baby bank transforms the lives of thousands of families living in poverty in Surrey and Croydon by providing essential items (safe beds, warm clothes, school uniforms, toiletries and age-appropriate toys and books) ensuring children aged 0-18 years can reach their potential. Founded in 2013, Stripey Stork has grown into a vital community lifeline, working with 367 referral organisations in 2024 to support 18,692 children. Their unique model - 'local families helping local families' - rehomes good quality items, giving them a new life with those who need them most.

We distribute food from FareShare & other companies that might otherwise go to waste. We offer to people in Horley that might currently be on a low income, benefits (including state pension) or finding themselves in temporary financial difficulties. We are looking for donations of food that can distributed to our members to assist them in these difficult times.
