How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Southern Co-op has donated surplus food and money, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Knaphill Community Fridge, wasting less through the sharing of good quality food

Woking, UK

Food & drink saved at Knaphill Community Fridge 2025 is 80,223 kilos! Thank you for supporting us throughout the year. A Community Fridge is a fridge into which anyone can put food, and from which anyone can take food. It will aim to utilise the redundant source of food in Knaphill, Brookwood and surrounding area whilst raising awareness of food waste issues and the impact on the environment. It will enable us to share our abundance, minimise waste and source free food that would otherwise be thrown away. It helps us support local businesses by collecting their surplus food and making available to the community. The average UK family wastes £470 a year by throwing away food and drink which could have been eaten, and £3 billion is wasted by food sectors. Despite growing awareness of food waste, there are few easy ways for people or businesses to get food near its 'sell by' date to others. (Source:Hubbub)

White Lodge

Chertsey, UK

White Lodge is a local disability charity supporting people of all ages to live fulfilling, independent lives. We work alongside families and carers to support more than 2,500 people each year across Surrey and beyond. Our services are delivered from a two-acre site in Chertsey, across three specialist buildings, and are led by skilled, compassionate staff who enable people to reach their potential. It costs approximately £3.5 million a year to run White Lodge. As statutory funding does not fully cover these costs, donations and community support are essential in helping us maintain and develop our vital services.

Chobham Rugby Club

Woking, UK

Chobham Rugby is one of Surrey’s leading community rugby clubs. We coach and develop players from the age of five onwards with the active participation of their families. We are proud to run vibrant Senior, Junior and Minis sections; all with a thriving membership and shared love of the game. We currently have five senior sides; playing league rugby from London 2 South West (Level 7) through to the Surrey Foundation League. We emphasise the RFU core values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship and enjoy a reputation for being a very well organised, competitive club with friendly members. We take pride in our RFU and Clubmark Quality Club Accreditations and participate in a full programme of fixtures; including friendly games, leagues and festivals. Our community rugby programme is active in local schools and holiday rugby camps are growing in popularity. We also host a variety of enjoyable social and community events throughout the year. No matter what age you are, new players are always welcome at all levels.
