The Co-operative Food - Rooksdown, Limes Park

CFL collects all surplus food from supermarkets in Basingstoke and redistributes it into the local community via a series of 35+ Hubs. These Hubs are in schools, nurserys, community centres, churches, vulnerable housing communities and youth clubs. We disribute the food freely to around 3000 people per week. Our whole team of over 80 volunteers enable collections 7 days a week. Our aims are To reduce food waste To reduce food poverty To build community relationships. Our current greatest need is to fund the purchase and wrapping of a second refridgerated delivery van following the demise of our previous elderly vehicle which had around 250000 miles on its clock.

Inspero's aim is to empower and support young people and their families to lead healthy lifestyles by learning about food, and the integral role it plays in their lives. Inspero provides a range of free and affordable services including cooking and healthy eating classes, food growing and gardening, Forest School for children, adult Green Therapy classes and a gardening service for older people. Additionally we build community gardens for areas of the community eg. Noah's Ark children’s Nursery, Women's Refuge and create edible gardens and deliver horticulture projects for local schools. We work with a range of organisations including BCoT, Buckskin Community Centre, Popley Fields Community Centre, Kempshott Hall Trustees, Sovereign Housing, Dove House School, Park View School, Sainsbury's and a range of corporates eg.Fujitsu. Our work is primarily for the advancement of education and community development, helping people to lead healthier lifestyles, prevent diseases and enhance overall well-being and quality of life.

Headway Place in Basingstoke is a local centre providing long-term, slow-stream rehabilitation for people who have sustained brain injuries. We support individuals and families living with the lasting effects of brain injury, helping them rebuild confidence, regain independence, and reconnect with their community. Our team offers structured sessions, therapeutic activities, and practical guidance tailored to each person’s needs. Through our partnership with Aldi and Neighbourly, we also receive surplus food donations which we distribute free of charge to our clients and their families. Many people living with a brain injury face financial hardship, and being able to offer free food makes a real difference to their wellbeing and household stability. We currently distribute donations directly at our centre and do not charge for any items received.
