St Mary's serves one of the poorest wards in Southampton - over 50% of our children are entitled to Free School Meals and nearly three-quarters attract the pupil premium funding (a marker of poverty). Our work with neighbourly will support us to open a foodbank, a community resource to serve our parents and children so that they may take what they need - when they need it. We hope that local supermarkets will be generous in supporting us with food that would otherwise be wasted, which will be utilised to support our most vulnerable families first - through boxes and food hampers. With the rest reaching our school community at the end of the day - posted on our Facebook page and through our school website. Hungry children cannot learn, retain and understand information as well as their peers.

Abbeyfield Court is a building of 16 apartments for independent living in a safe and interesting setting, with strong connections to the local community and support services. Relaxation and inclusion are also an important part of life at Locks Heath. Space and time are made for residents to relax, reflect and have some me-time – we feel it’s important to balance this with exercise and socialising.

South Central Ambulance Charity works across Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire as well as supporting our Patient Transport Services in Surrey and Sussex. The NHS only funds SCAS to make sure everyone has the BASIC tools they need to do their jobs. With your help, we could give our staff access to equipment to allow even better care of patients. The demand for services is increasing each year and we need your help to get to those patients who have a life-threatening emergency as quickly as possible. As a charity we have three key objectives: 1. To provide equipment, uniform and training for our volunteer Community First Responders All our Community First Responders (CFRs) are volunteers, and they come from every walk of life. What they have in common is their desire to make a difference by volunteering in life and death situations. CFRs assist the Ambulance Service by attending emergency calls in the areas where they live or work. As they are local, they can often reach a potentially life-threatening emergency in the first vital minutes before the ambulance crew can get to the scene. The NHS does not fund the ambulance service to provide this. With your help, we can give local communities the skills they need to help themselves, and each other, in a life-threatening emergency. 2. To build awareness of life-saving skills and defibrillators in our communities A little bit of knowledge goes a long way towards saving a life. We want to deliver: • Basic awareness training about public access defibrillators in every community where we have installed one. • First aid and basic life-saving training in schools and communities. • Access to lifesaving skills and information for everyone by making basic training available online. 3. Supporting our Staff Our ability to provide life-saving care is increasingly dependent on our faculty to make sure our staff have access to all the latest technology. Developing 999 care of the future means investing in research, development projects, introducing new ways of working and new equipment. We also support our frontline staff by investing in their working environment.
