The charity has launched a Community Fridge in a small shop in windsor in june 2021 The short dated food that is currently picked up from local supermarkets is now given out in our community fridge which the charity opened on June 7th 2021 This short dated food which would normally be either given to charities for free, or thrown away and wasted and would end up in landfill or in to waste , the charity now collects short dated and surplus food and it is given to anyone who can rescue it and use it. We help around 150 people a week who access the community fridge from the homeless who have been placed in local bed and breakfasts, to families and people who may be struggling financially and or experiencing food poverty and food insecurity. we are open Tuesday to Friday 11-12pm and we also run a community fridge pop on Saturdays every month in different locations

We have a range of treatment options so we can tailor these to meet your needs. These include: Easy referral and assessment process either face to face or online An allocated worker to provide consistent support and motivation Access to free online resources available 24/7 Advice and Information Group work sessions Peer Support Relapse Prevention Harm Reduction Needle Exchange Access to substitute prescribing Opportunities to get involved as peer mentors or volunteers We understand that stopping drugs and alcohol can be hard and scary. The team at START will support you every step of the way to make the process feel less daunting. We also provide opportunities for people from all walks of life to get involved in our service. There are Peer Mentoring Opportunities for those who have been through Recovery and want to use their experiences to help others. We also encourage volunteers who have not been through treatment but still wish to get involved with the service. Our young person and young adult service can work with young people or young adult up until their 25th Birthday. We work across the town seeing young people wherever it suits them – this means we can come to you to ensure you are getting the help and support you need. We offer a non-judgmental service and are here to support you – whatever the issue. We can help you with the following: 1:1 sessions Outreach service – we can meet you where it suits you Education about drugs and alcohol Space to talk things through Up to date and factual information and advice Support to look at drug or alcohol use, what you are using, how much and how often Help with deciding what changes you want to make Support to cut down, quit and gain control Access and support to other services which can support you A support plan that looks at all of you, not just about your drug or alcohol use. We begin by doing a full and comprehensive assessment to help you determine your treatment goals. Once we have done this, we can: Provide treatment to suit your individual needs Look at triggers, learn new ways to cope and work out what you want from working with us Harm minimization Brief interventions Signposting and support to access other services Targeted group work.
