The Co-operative Food - Overton, Winchester Street

Overton Preschool Playgroup is an outstanding early years’ education provider, and has been at the heart of the village of Overton for 40 years. We care for children from 2 upwards in 2 settings, a Playgroup at the Community Centre, and a Preschool within Overton Primary School site dedicated to children in their preschool year. Both settings include well equipped outdoor space which is used throughout the year in a free-flow environment. We are very proud to have been graded as an Outstanding setting by Ofsted in all areas. We are a charity, registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales and we are run by a voluntary parent management committee. We are passionate about providing quality care and education to local children through a team of professionally qualified and experience staff. We’re OFSTED registered and are a member of the Preschool Learning Alliance, a leading educational charity that provides support and training for preschools.

In September 2019, Overton Parish Council declared a Climate Emergency and as a result Sustainable Overton was formed. We are a team of volunteers living in the beautiful Hampshire village of Overton, working together to combat climate change. Our goal is to become a carbon neutral community by 2030. ​As a team we are making changes to help Overton become a sustainable community. And along the way we aim to share some simple ways that we can all make a difference. We were all set to hold a monthly Repair Cafe but unfortunately we could not get underway because of the Coronavirus lockdown. We would now love to hold our first event on 26th September. We have an excellent outdoor venue, several keen people willing to carry out all sorts of repairs (electrical, computers, woodworking, jewellery, stitching, knitting, bike repairs) and lots of people waiting to have items repaired! We are looking forward to getting started and making the Sustainable Overton Repair Cafe a monthly event.
