How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, ALDI has donated surplus food, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Buzzee Beez food scheme.

Harlow, UK

We are already part of the Fare Share food scheme and Greggs surplus where we distribute food which would of been thrown away to our families in our preschool. We feel strongly about teaching our children how not to waste food as well as educate our families on what they can do with the food we give them. Being part of neighbourly will helps us to further our goal of redistributing food which would of gone to waste and help our families save money. We also work with a local charity Community Embrace which is a Community Food Pantry where we signpost our families too. We work with Greggs to help combat food waste from one of their local stores. We set all of this surplus food out on tables and in fridges and freezers for the parents at the preschool to help themselves Free of charge. We are in an area of deprivation so this food is a huge help to all of our families especially during the cost of living crisis. Any help with more food donations will always be appreciated.

Sanctuary supported living - Anne Knight House Chelmsford

Chelmsford, UK

Sanctuary Supported Living is a not-for-profit organisation, delivering a wide range of supported housing and retirement communities, alongside tailored care and support services, to people across England. We have over 650 supported housing services across England, where our amazing teams provide the care and support that our customers need. Working in close partnership with the people we support, their families, carers and health professionals, we deliver high quality services that support people on their unique pathways for independence. AT ANNE KNIGHT HOUSE We are a building block of individual flats for vulnerable young families. We house those who are vulnerable and are seeking emergency and temporary accommodation. We receive referrals via Chelmsford Council, as well as the private agencies who identify those who are in need our support. Once accommodated with us, every resident is appointed a keyworker, who works with them to draw up a personalised support plan. Tailored support, advice and assistance includes signposting and accessing other services, managing finances (such as with budgeting and benefits) and managing mental health needs and alcohol and substance misuse. Our aim is to find residents more suitable, longer-term/permanent accommodation and for them to live successful lives having the new tools they have gained at SSL. With your donations this will be distributed to our residents without charges in order to support them and their families. With over 50 years of experience, we help people to live as independently as possible. We deliver supported housing, Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered services, floating support, retirement communities, and technology in the home.
