Warminster Lions Club (Cio) Updating Santa's Christmas Float 2020

Warminster, UK

We would like to request contributions towards our Christmas activities. Over a period of 11 nights in December 2020 we took our Santa Float to as many streets as we can sensibly cover within Warminster and the surrounding villages. Because of the Covid19 measures we have had to purchase new costumes for the two club members who are volunteering for the first time as a Santa and also three additional wigs and beards sets for those who are using our old costumes. The total cost to the club for these has been £108.93. In addition there have been a number of improvements and repairs carried out on our Santa's Workshop Float, including new lighting and sound systems as well as the cost of re-designing and painting float. The cost of this approached £100. The local communities were very pleased that we turned out and a great many posts of thanks were left on our Facebook page. Thank you for your interest in our appeal.

Jacob's Ladder

Warminster, UK

Jacob's Ladder aims to provide fun and stimulating projects for children and young people aged 2-19 in a safe and understanding environment. We are planning to run an after school club, holiday play-schemes, Saturday clubs and family days throughout the year. The children and young people Jacob's Ladder works with have some form of special needs, including but not limited to, autism, ADHD, downs syndrome, global developmental delay, physical disabilities and communication difficulties. Our children require a high level of care 24/7 and the projects we run not only allow the children to have a fun and enjoyable day out with 1:1 support, but also allow parents and carers to have well deserved break. We know that a few hours respite to do the weekly shop, or spend time with other siblings, can be the difference between coping and not coping. Our children and young people are incredibly special and we want to be able to provide them with the most exciting and enjoyable days possible.
