DofE offers the chance to do something completely new or improve on things you’re already doing. Colleges, universities and employers regard a DofE Award highly so it will help to open the right doors for you There is a “Young Friends of Gillingham DofE OAC” group: members who work to keep costs down by fundraising to help pay for insurance, room hire, campsites, transport, team equipment (such as tents, compasses, maps, cooking stoves and fuel, first aid kits etc), staff training and more. Whatever monies can’t be raised must be met by families. Total costs without extras are over £23000 per annum. In 2019 another £10000 had to be raised to pay for a store in order to safeguard equipment.
