We deliver free, high-quality, compassionate care and support to terminally ill patients, their family and carers. We deliver care that is special and unique to each individual. • All of our services are provided free to adult patients and their families. • The care we provide is tailored to the needs of each patient. • We help people living with cancer and other terminal illnesses. • Our services are provided by a team of dedicated health and social care professionals. • Care is provided both at the Hospice and in patients' own homes. • 90p of every £1 received goes towards patient care. • Our 300 staff are helped by over 1,000 volunteers. • We have 25 charity shops located throughout Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. • Over 21,000 people play our weekly LOROS Lottery. • We work in partnership with higher and further education providers to supply education, training and support to over 1,000 health and social care professionals every year. • Research is a key part of our work. Our care is based on the latest research, with our research programme directed at improving care for patients, their families and carers. • LOROS works collaboratively with other local health and social care providers to benefit patient care. We also work closely with those responsible for commissioning health care across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. • It costs us £7.5 million each year to be able to deliver our services. The NHS does give us some money, but we still need to raise at least £4.5 million each year from our local community.

Alzheimer's Society is Cadent's current charity partner, and is available for anyone worried about or affected by dementia. We provide information and support, and campaign for better quality of life for people with dementia and a greater understanding of the condition. We are also dedicated to defeating dementia through research. We fund research into the cause, cure, care and prevention of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease, to improve treatment for people today, and search for a cure for tomorrow. Voluntary income from fundraising is essential to ensuring that we continue to provide and develop these local services and vital research. We demand a better future for everyone affected by all forms of dementia. With the help of our members and supporters, we campaign for change that will improve all aspects of care and support. Around seven young people aged between 13 and 24 are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK. We’re the only charity dedicated to providing expert care and support from the moment they hear the word cancer. We treat them as young people first, cancer patients second and everything we do aims to improve their quality of life and chances of survival. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them. There are three specialist units like this in the West Midlands. We also educate young people in schools about cancer to help improve the speed and quality of diagnosis.
