With the levels of unemployment, along with the number of low-paid employees living in Brent, many residents find themselves at a crisis point. They are unable to feed their families and provide for life’s basic needs. There may, however, be many other challenges within the family, which may contribute to the family crisis. It is bearing this in mind that the Centre of Help and Hope was conceived. The Centre provides the following services: Food bank Clothing hub Befriending service Gardening services Counselling services Light domestic help Vocational skills Intentional parenting courses

Together In Westminster Community is a community-led organisation dedicated to empowering families, women, and young people through cultural, educational, and wellbeing programmes. We provide a safe, inclusive space for learning, support, and community connection, especially for refugees, migrants, and low-income families in Westminster and surrounding areas. Our centre includes a multi-purpose community hall, meeting and classroom spaces, and a small kitchen where we prepare and distribute food to families and individuals in need. We identify service users through a combination of: Community outreach, Referrals from local Cllrs, faith organisations, and Westminster City Council departments, Direct engagement with families already attending our centre,Ongoing needs assessments via one-to-one conversations. All our services, including food support, are provided entirely free of charge to individuals and families facing hardship. We are committed to removing barriers and supporting our community without creating additional financial pressure. we provide: Free Arabic language classes for refugee and migrant women, Wellbeing and creative workshops for women and families, Signposting and support for housing, education, and employment, Youth engagement, volunteering and leadership programmes, Interfaith and cultural events to build community cohesion, Support with digital inclusion and school applications All services are provided with a focus on dignity, accessibility, and cultural sensitivity. At present, we do not collect surplus food from any retailers. We currently rely on small-scale donations from individuals in the community, including families who want to give back and occasional support from local well-wishers. We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by Trussell, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
