How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, ALDI has donated surplus food and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

The Lawrence Centre

Wells, UK

We provide day opportunities for older people including frail, vulnerable people and those with mild to moderate dementia and/or physical disability such as Parkinsons disease or Stroke. We aim to provide a high quality service and always take time to understand the background and interests of everyone who attends the centre as this helps to guide the way in which we support them. Our main remit is to prevent social isolation and to give family carers a break. We provide an opportunity for older people to be part of their local community and access information and activities that will help them to keep well and remain as independent as possible. We are open 5 days a week, Monday - Friday from 10am - 2.30pm. The main activity begins after people have had refreshments on arrival. Activities include singing and music, flexercise, tai chi, arts and crafts, cooking, gardening and speakers on a variety of topics. A fresh, home cooked two course lunch then follows and is always enjoyed. After lunch there are quizzes, or a reminiscence session and the day concludes with tea and often cake. We are committed to providing a high quality service in a homely caring and respectful environment.
