Zero Hunger is a community-led food movement dedicated to reducing food insecurity, preventing loneliness, and tackling food waste across Hart, Rushmoor, Basingstoke & Deane and surrounding areas.
We provide access to quality surplus food through our community outreach venues, helping individuals and families facing financial hardship while also creating welcoming, safe spaces where people can connect and feel supported. Our work helps save tonnes of perfectly good food from going to waste each year and redistributes it directly back into the community. We currently serve between 400 to 500 people and week.
Alongside food support, we actively promote wellbeing, inclusion, and community engagement through volunteer opportunities and local partnerships. Our volunteers — known as Food Heroes — are at the heart of everything we do and help us create a positive, non-judgemental environment for everyone who accesses our services.
We are always grateful for support in the form of surplus food donations, volunteers, and community partnerships. Additional support allows us to expand our outreach, reach more vulnerable people, and continue building stronger, healthier communities where no one goes hungry or feels alone.

Farnborough, UK
The Alex Acheampong Foundation (Registered Charity Number: 1212170) is an established charity dedicated to operating a food bank in the Hampshire area.

Our services are delivered weekly from Mayfield Community Centre, where we provide free food parcels in a welcoming, respectful environment. We do not currently offer a delivery service, all food is collected onsite. Visitors are also invited to enjoy afternoon tea, friendly conversation, and access to practical essentials such as toiletries and baby items when available.
We work closely with and support several UK-based groups, including the Farnborough ESOL Team (supporting Nepali nationals), Rushmoor Young Carers, and homeless or sheltered residents in Aldershot.
The food bank is expanding to accept fresh, ambient, and frozen food items, helping to reduce waste through partnerships with local food suppliers. While all food is currently funded directly by our trustees through charitable contributions, we are actively seeking UK-based partnerships with supermarkets and retailers to sustain our growing service.
Referrals are accepted from UK schools, health professionals, social workers, housing officers, and self-referring individuals. We are committed to ensuring every visitor is treated with dignity, kindness, and without judgment.
Our work has been recognised locally, receiving positive Google reviews, an endorsement from Julia Tedeschi (ESOL Team), and a 5-star food hygiene rating from Rushmoor Borough Council in June 2025.
