Transformation CPR
Camborne, UK
CPR Foodbank began in 2010; it is managed by the charity Transformation CPR. The growth in need for foodbank led to taking on a warehouse for Foodshare. We accept surplus food and redistribute it either to foodbanks or to other charitable organisations. Relationships are building with local food producers and outlets, and we now have a constant supply of fresh produce. This makes us a unique supplier to day care centres, lunch clubs, drop-in centres and breakfast clubs in the area, helping them to keep their costs down and provide a vital service to our community. More partners are joining us to stop waste products, and are making it their social responsibility to be part of our community service. Operational bases: our office is at 8 Chi Tevyans, Trevenson Park, Pool, Redruth TR15 3FY Our food banks operate at the following locations: St Andrews Church, Clinton Road, Redruth TR15 2LL: Mondays 10.00 -12.00 Salvation Army, 7 Middletons Row, Redruth TR15 1NH: Wednesdays 10.00 – 12.00 Centenary Chapel, The Centenary Centre, Centenary Methodist Church, Centenary Street, Camborne TR14 8HS: Tuesdays 1.30 - 3.30. Food bank referrals and crisis award applications are referred to us by professionals (NHS, local authority, charities, etc.). Community Hubs are open to all the community and people can walk in and get help with information, advice and support and sign up for activities, if applicable for their needs. We have a newsletter (recent version attached). Apart from food help, community hub and crisis award provision, we have a team of community health and wellbeing workers who address social and health inequalities in two targeted areas in Camborne. All of our services are free to service users. We also run an annual Christmas hamper and gift donation drive in Camborne, Pool, Redruth.
