How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, ALDI has donated surplus food and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

The Objects of the charity are, for the public benefit, the relief of persons who are in need by reason of financial hardship, ill-health, unemployment, homelessness, education and such other economic or social disadvantage. On average we support between 60 and 90 clients every week. We work in partnership with many local agencies including social services. To fulfil these objects, we operate a number of projects to assist our local community: • Foodbank • Baby bank • Cost of living project • Benefits support • Cooking on a budget course • Domestic abuse victim support • Debt support • Budget and money management training • Drug prevention / mentor support • Friendship hub • Training and upskilling Our Baby bank is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 12pm to 3pm, though we offer practical provision outside those hours too including emergency support. We provide free milk formula, nappies, wipes, and good quality used clothing, blankets, prams, Moses baskets etc. Our Foodbank is open every Thursday from 12pm to 3pm, though again, we provide free food outside those hours too. Our Friendship Hub is every Friday morning, where people who struggle with mental ill health or isolation attend. We also provide practical advice and support through our Cost-of-Living Project including debt support via Citizens Advice. During winter months we provide a Warm Hub where people can come and have free hot refreshments and food, hot water bottles and blankets, and other practical support. During opening hours, our clients are also able to receive advice on housing, eviction, benefits, and debt through Citizens Advice, The Wallich and Thrive Women's Aid who come in to speak to our clients.
