How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, ALDI has donated surplus food and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Willowtown's Wonderful Big Bocs Bwyd

Ebbw Vale, UK

The Big Bocs Bwyd is a unregistered charity linked to Willowtown Community Primary School that creates and sustains opportunities for the community to develop and grow stronger. This project is designed to address social isolation, health and wellbeing and employability with the aim to improve the lives of people living in the surrounding areas of Ebbw Vale. Our mission is to teach everyone to lead a healthy lifestyle and work towards the sustainable goals of No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Quality Education and Good Health. We want to make our community happy and healthy by helping them socialise, make friends and make healthy choices affordable. Our aim is to do this by providing a range of groceries such as fresh fruit and vegetables, tinned food, dried food, frozen foods and bakery products. The Big Bocs Bwyd will operate on a 'pay as you feel' basis. We are hoping to get local businesses on board with a range of kind donations.

BRYNMAWR ROTARY COMMUNITY FOODBANK

Ebbw Vale, UK

Brynmawr Rotary Community Foodbank - Here to Support Our Community At Brynmawr Rotary Community Foodbank, we are committed to supporting individuals and families across Blaenau Gwent during times of crisis. Our mission is to provide essential items, - such as food, toiletries, and access to further support - through trusted partnerships with local organisations. Referrals to our service come from a wide range of public and voluntary sector agencies. Support is typically offered for up to four weeks within a 12-month period, with each request carefully assessed based on individual need and the support already in place. In addition to emergency provisions, our dedicated team can connect people with agencies offering help with benefits, financial hardship, and personal challenges - ensuring a holistic and compassionate approach to crisis support. Our work is made possible by the generosity of our local community. Donations from residents, churches and schools. Contributions to the Lidl donation basket in Brynmawr, and financial support through grants and gifts help us maintain vital supplies. We also at times receive fresh produce through valued partnerships with Neighbourly, Lidl, and Aldi, allowing us to include healthy, fresh options in the parcels we provide. We are proud to be part of a caring and generous community. Together, we’re making a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most.
