ALDI MERTHYR TYDFIL

The food collected is meant to be shared amongst the residents of an older people's scheme - Ty Gwaunfarren over 55's scheme in Merthyr Tydfil. This group was previously linked with Twyncarmel Pantry and had shared some of the food collected with them but this has not been the case since August 2025. At the request of Wales & West Housing, the landlords of Ty Gwaunfarren, this group is no longer being inspected by Environmental Health. you can see the the last inspection was April 2024, as they no longer give permission for this food business to be run on their premises.

We are a local community centre in a very deprived area we do activities and provide services to help local residents and their families. We work together with food share Tesco Asda and Greggs and do 5 free food pick ups per week to enable everyone that is struggling both employed & unemployed get fed each week. We also offer free wifi and locals can pop in to use laptops when needed they can also be helped if need be with benefits or jobsearches etc. Renewing bus passes have been asked for by several older and disabled residents over the past few weeks in preparation for December. We have fund raising days craft class and lots more besides. Donations of any kind will be gratefully received. We also network with our local womens aid and homeless.
