How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, ALDI has donated surplus food and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Rutland Community Fridges

Oakham, UK

Rutland Community Fridges have been running sine October 2020. With 4 locations in Oakham and Uppingham and Greetham, we operate for approx 6 hours a week. We have regular contact with around 70 families each week and have saved over 35 tonnes of food to date July 2024. We are looking to refurbish the Community room that our Oakham Community fridge is situated and would be happy to accept donations of paint and other decorating materials from the B&Q Community Reuse Programme.

Kettering Foodbank

Kettering, UK

Kettering Foodbank exists because no one should go hungry. We provide people with food in time of crisis, and help to identify and resolve the underlying issues that cause them to fall into food poverty. We assess the situation of anyone who applies for a food parcel so that we can understand their particular needs, and sign post to other agencies for help and advice . Hopefully this will help individuals get out of food poverty and discourage food bank dependency . We are happy to promote our foodbank via local radio, and by giving talks to local businesses, schools and churches. We accept referrals from agencies within our area, from the local homeless teams, to schools and various NNC depts. Any surplus food we receive we have a 'help yourself' table outside our premises which is very well known and used. We try to ensure NOTHING goes to landfill..

Looprun Corby

Corby, UK

Looprun is a response division and part of an independent social enterprise. This is more than food and is part of a supportive services platform to help people get sustained in their own individual way. With up to 94% success rate and seeing once those receiving free Looprun response bags to returning to stores as shoppers with baskets full. These are the impact stories created when all come together to do good for good. Service users are signposted to Looprun mostly from referrals including professionals in social and healthcare. Looprun provides free non perishables, perishable food, toiletries, and brand new clothing to people facing a temporary challenge. Whatever supermarkets, stores, and retailers can do is turned into a grateful donation to a neighbour in need. This is a response to real people in real-time. No food is banked providing a direct in and out service. We believe if the food is stored then a person in need is not getting any food, hence we provide an instant response and instant impact service. Looprun has access to professional volunteers who carry out a confidential support service to people in need. From homeless shelters, hostels, sheltered housing, care homes, soup kitchens and schools. This is a non voucher, free and confidential service. This means Looprun can reach more people in need with food donations. Anyone that receives a Looprun bag of essential food items is sustained thus creating a loop cycle. All are invited to become part of these sustainable stories in your local community.
