Perth and Kinross is home to many local food growers, producers and retailers. Many of them redistribute surplus foods to charities and other community groups . For this reason the Guildtown Hall and Playing Fields are developing the Guildtown Community Larder to feed the community , residents will save money and reduce food waste . The residents of Guildtown live in a rural village there is no shop and the local bus service is poor There is a mix of people single, elderly, people with young families We will use neighbourly to support our community larder and promote fresh food to our residents The community larder will support people with the cost of living crisis promote healthy eating and any surplus foods will be used by the local pub to make soup and desserts to be given back to the community . There will be no cost to the Guildtown Larder as it will operate from the village hall We have a partnership with the Perth Guildry a voluntary charity which at times gives a donation We are registered with OSCAR and our accounts are audited and submitted annually All Food donations will be screened from neighbourly and strict monitoring of the food stuffs will be adhered to and given free to the community. Once we are established we will upload to the media gallery to share our project with other groups We will also link our Facebook page to Neighbourly so our good cause is being shared to other groups and the media We are partnered with Fareshare and have been accepted to join their organisation We are also registered with PKC as a registered food outlet and will be inspected as per their guidance . In the local press we have a rural news section and we up date them when we have an event and will be posting this new project in the next issue The larder will operate from the village hall where there is a kitchen Fridge and freezer . The Guildtown larder is open once a week from 2pm to 4pm The Guildtown larder is advertised on Facebook weekly with photographs to illustrate the produce we have that week
