ALDI LEVEN

The People's Pantry the Centre Leven is a not for profit organisation. We have a membership of 130 people and 15 volunteers. We run a Friday pantry where members receive high quality food that may have otherwise been destined for landfill. We are also looking after our environment by reducing single use plastics through operating a refill station where members bring in reusable containers which are refilled with pasta, rice, tea, coffee, sugar and potatoes. We are a non profit making charity that address isolation, loneliness and poverty by offering free meal or even just a cup of tea or a coffee and a place to meet for company. Donations are welcome. We supply surplus food donated from local shops.

Established in 1969, Arden House is a key resource for the Levenmouth community, providing day care services to the frail elderly, thereby helping them to maintain independent living for as long as possible. Our aim is to lessen social isolation of elderly, frail and dementia service users. We provide day care six days a week and 52 weeks a year, closing only for two days in each of the Christmas and New Year weeks. Arden House provides transport to and from day care with escorts to help service users into centres. Levenmouth is an area of high social deprivation and many elderly residents don't have family or relatives close by to offer support. Staff at Arden House support service users in various ways, including arranging hospital and GP appointments to ensure they are getting the best package of care for their needs and requirements. A specialist programme of activities is designed around each individual's needs. We also work in conjunction with other agencies to maintain service users' mental health and wellbeing.
