ALDI AIRDRIE - HIGH ST

The Sacred Heart Kitchen is a non-profit charity organisation solely funded by donations and run by volunteers. We are open every Monday night from 5pm to 7pm and provide a warm welcome for everyone to enjoy a free, 2 course, home cooked, hot meal with tea, coffee, juice and biscuits from 5.30pm – 6.30pm. We also provide free clothes and shoes, and everyone is welcome regardless of their age or circumstances. Our volunteers range from all diverse backgrounds, religious faiths, and ages. We are grateful to have the support of young people (who do a fantastic job serving) from 3 local schools – Greenfaulds High School, Our Lady’s High School and Cumbernauld Academy. They integrate and work well alongside our adult volunteers to provide this much needed service. It’s a great opportunity for young people to broaden their horizons and gain experience in different aspects of what life can bring. We are consistently finding more and more people in need of our help, especially in the current economic climate. There have been many requests for us to provide a foodbank also, so with the help of donations we have started to supply food parcels for people having a meal. We would appreciate any food donations to allow us to prepare hot meals or provide food parcels. We would also welcome any clothes donations.

The identification and combating of all forms of poverty and sickness, without differentiation on the grounds of race, colour, creed or sex, by promoting social justice and actively working with those in need and, without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, to bring spiritual and/or material comfort to people in conditions of need, hardship or distress.

Our church serves both the spiritual and practical needs of her members and families within the church community. We are committed to providing hope, support, and assistance to vulnerable members facing financial hardship, unemployment, illness, food insecurity, and other life challenges. Through faith-based outreach and compassionate care, we thrive to improve the well-being of her memebers in need and promote a stronger, united and more resilient community. The church support initiatives for her members and the wider community. These include: Emergency financial assistance for families in crisis. Food and essential supplies distribution. Pastoral care, counseling, and emotional support. Support for elderly, widowed, new parents and vulnerable individuals. Youth development and mentoring programs. Community outreach and charitable activities. Prayer, spiritual guidance, and faith formation. Assistance with education, skills development, and employment opportunities where possible.
