Over the past 12 years The Raft Foundation food bank has provided over £1200,000 worth of support to neighbours experiencing hardship in Rossendale through delivery of food parcels containing 7 day essential supplies adapted to each households needs. This reinvestment back in to our community is based on redistribution of donated food and other items as well as volunteer match time donated. Whilst supporting neighbours this also contributes to reducing waste and landfill all part of our aim to reduce our environmental footprint. Our adaptations to the demands of the Covid pandemic have enabled us to continue supporting increasing numbers of neighbours experiencing hard times throughout #Rossendale Adaptations include dietary needs, access to cooking facilities and fuel, inclusion of nappies and other baby items, including new baby welcome packs, blankets, hot water bottles, new home starter support. Parcels are also adapted to meet the needs of the homeless, whether street homeless or sofa surfing often including a ruck sack pack which includes Rucksack, sleeping bag, torch, gloves, hat, socks and fleece / waterproof where donations enable. Working with over 40 referring agencies people are listened to, supported and signposted support empowering them to address the root causes of problems presenting as food and often fuel poverty. We will continue to work towards identifying root cause solutions whilst delivering food parcels, support and volunteering opportunities connecting with an average of 90 people every week and delivering food parcels sufficient to provide an average of 1000 meals every week 51 weeks of the year. We will continue to listen and work with our neighbours to turn their ideas in to action, promote hope and empowered more connected community - resilience, neighbourliness, hope and respect are at the root of all we do. FUNdraising opportunities that also aim to reduce isolation, promote cohesion and raise awareness will continue to be a core way of delivering our project. Outreach with schools and young peoples groups will continue supported by the Community organiser project aimed at raising awareness of issues identified through the food bank service including isolation & lack of neighbouring. This also supports friendship and community badge & school work as well as anti - bullying, health and wellbeing, promotes citizenship, community collaboration and the development of a sense of civic pride. We are Bury Seventh Day Adventist church, based at 32 Parkhill’s Road, Bury, BL9 9HS - Charity Number: 1045501. As a small community church with a vision for providing a safe and warm place for vulnerable, lonely, struggling families to come and have some food, get a food parcel and have a conversation with someone. In doing this we tackle loneliness, isolation and tough times for people who are struggling both financially and emotionally during these tough times. We started out as a soup kitchen for rough sleepers a year ago, it has become apparent that there is a larger need for people struggling to make basic ends meet and who are socially isolated. We hope to continue giving out a meal with a food parcel in our open-air car park, following Covid government guidelines

Church on the Street Ministries is a faith in action charity that, through the light of Jesus Christ, lifts people out of poverty while providing a space for worship. Based in Burnley and across the North West, COTS is a place where everyone’s welcome – no matter who you are. The Charities Objectives are * To advance the Christian religion in Burnley for the benefit of the public through the holding of street ministries, providing a place of worship, regular prayer meetings and bible studies to enlighten others about the basis of the Christian faith. * The prevention or relief of poverty in Burnley by providing items and services to individuals in need. * To promote social inclusion for the public benefit by preventing people from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society. The work of Church On The Street aims to facilitate change and social reform on a national and international basis. The Charity has locations in Preston, Blackburn, Burnley and Barnoldswick - thus providing services across Lancashire and have recently established a lead pastor in the Dominican Republic, whose main aim is to educate children from underprivileged backgrounds.
