How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, ALDI has donated surplus food and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Beehive Community Centre

Manchester, UK

Having taken over a very underused Council building, volunteers at the Beehive have worked hard to make it into a welcoming space where visitors can socialise, attend classes and access food if necessary. As we are fully responsible for the upkeep of the building our ongoing 'Good as New' sales also help us to raise funds so anything that can be sold on is welcome. Once we have paid all our expenses, money raised goes to small local charities or we liaise with social workers to support families in need. This can entail passing on second hand furniture, household items or clothes or purchasing new white goods/carpets where necessary. We also have a small pantry from which we can supply food packages for emergency cases.
