The purpose is the prevention and relief of poverty in and around the area of High Peak borough council in Derbyshire. At present the activities consist of -operating food banks, -employability programmes - advice services -Buxton Community Eco-Cafe - Wellbeing services -Free haircuts -volunteering and work experience opportunities -Microjobs for people who are long term unemployed. Zink provides over 40,000 meals a year to families in crisis, helps 250+ people a year to resolve issues that cause poverty and have supported over 400 long term unemployed people into work and out of poverty. In summer 2021 we will be opening a new hub to provide existing services plus an upcycling project, music therapy, book exchange, increased cafe opening, enterprise centre and additional wellbeing services. Funding is urgently needed to renovate the premises to be ready in time to support people affected by Covid when restrictions are lifted.
