How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, ALDI has donated surplus food and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

The Mill Community Grocery

Bolton, UK

The Community Grocery supports those feeling the financial impact of COVID-19 and other circumstances to gain access to food and toiletry items. We know that many households in our local community have been feeling the financial impact of Covid-19 and so The Message Trust is partnering with The Mill Community Church to bring the Community Grocery to Bolton & Bury! Local residents can get the shopping they need for themselves and their family at a fraction of the cost. For donations made via neighbourly we will be setting up a 'free items' station. Using surplus items from supermarkets as well as donations from businesses we are also helping to reduce food waste. Not only this, but all our members will have access to a range of free support services such as job clubs, computer training and much more. We currently support over 1000 families in Bolton & Bury which represent over 3000 individuals.
