G-Force is a small local charity who's mission is to provide support to those in need living in Broomwood & similar areas locally. There are some of the things we do:- * We run a Community Cafe on Broomwood that is open 6 days a week. * We run two Community Groceries which between them are open three times a week. * We produce meals on a weekly basis that are distributed to the homeless in Manchester * We provide £1 meals during school holidays to children and young People living on Broomwood. Last year we serviced over 2500 meals * We run a Youth Cafe once a week for the children & Young People on Broomwood * We run a number of community Fun Days * We deliver volunteer projects in our community to enhance the local environment * We also work strategically with Partners to add value to our services to our community PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING REGARDING THE COMMUNITY GROCERIES:- * Any income derived from the Community Groceries is used to cover essential operational costs only. * The Community Groceries are designed to be non profit making; this ensures the cheapest prices possible * Each week we also provide a large quantity of food that is FREE OF CHARGE and available for each attendee. * Any items received through Neighbourly retail partners are not sold for profit. * Items sourced through our Neighbourly Partners are not individually priced

The Food Rescue Group at Manchester mobilises an active and committed network of student volunteers and community partners from across the city. Led by students from local universities, the group turns climate concern into practical action by addressing food waste at a grassroots level. Food waste is a major driver of climate change. Valuable resources such as land, water, and energy are consumed to produce food, yet large quantities are discarded and sent to landfill, where they generate methane, a greenhouse gas far more potent than carbon dioxide. By rescuing surplus food and redirecting it to people who need it, the group reduces environmental harm while supporting families and individuals across Manchester. The initiative works in partnership with local producers, retailers, and food businesses to ensure surplus food is used rather than wasted. These partnerships reduce disposal costs for businesses while delivering measurable environmental benefits. In Manchester, operations are powered by students from the University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University, the University of Salford, the University of Bolton, and the Royal Northern College of Music, alongside members of the Hindu community and other local groups. Together, they demonstrate how student-led action can create meaningful climate impact. Pickup and distribution in Manchester are coordinated by Haojun Shuai and Ramanujam Nagarajan, who manage volunteer schedules, oversee collections, and ensure rescued food is delivered promptly and safely. Their leadership supports efficient operations while keeping the group’s work firmly rooted in student engagement and community values. Food is collected and redistributed within 15 minutes of pickup, ensuring freshness and removing the need for storage facilities. All items are carefully inspected to meet food safety standards, and any unsuitable food is disposed of responsibly to minimise environmental impact. Coordination is managed through a dedicated WhatsApp group, providing real-time updates on collection times, locations, and quantities. Through this work, the Food Rescue Group at Manchester diverts significant volumes of food from landfill, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, conserves valuable resources, and strengthens community connections. As the group continues to grow, it remains committed to showing how student-led climate action can drive real change, one meal, one volunteer, and one community at a time.

The Carrington Tenants and Residents Association (CTaRA) is a non-party political association that is passionate about improving life in Carrington in joint connection with our Parish council Facebook page. The work of the group is championed by the member of our community , a dedicated enthusiastic body of volunteers, committed to representing all in Carrington Parish and campaigning on their behalf. The members are supported in this work by Tenant and Resident Representatives. Detailed below are our Mission, Vision and Values. Our Mission : These represent what we do To represent the interests of, and promote membership to all the residents within Carrington. To promote the interests and rights of Tenants and Residents and to encourage them to be more actively involved. To ensure that all residents are consulted and informed regularly. To work towards improving the quality of life for local people and our community. To assist and promote social activities for recreation and enjoyment, and encourage a community spirit and sense of responsibility. To be non party political. To represent the majority view of the community. To take into account the views of children and young people who are not old enough to be voting member. We have a high number of elderly residents in a small community, off less than 400 and low income families. Being in a rural location, we don't have a local shop or amenities in the village and have to rely on other neighbouring villages. We feel our village has been isolated for a number of years and only recently, after creating the Association,have we begun to unite the community. This has highlighted the venerable and needy in our village and we want to help them, have the extra assistance they may need, at this festive time.Unfortunately due to financial constraints, many can not afford to indulge in simple luxuries and we feel any help you can give them, would be gratefully received. We the Association and the community, would be extremely thankful for any help you could give, with regards to ensuring these resident have a Christmas to remember. We also contribute to the sustainability of Marks and Spencer’s on reducing the land fill from waste food by making the collections and distributing the food to families to use.
