The Colne Valley, with its rich history, diverse landscape and biodiversity, has a lot to offer. Established in 1965, the Colne Valley Regional Park was seen as an important area of land to preserve for leisure, recreation and conservation to the west of London, between Rickmansworth and Staines. More recently, in 2012, the Colne Valley Park Community Interest Company (CIC) was created to implement the six objectives of the Colne Valley Park: - To maintain and enhance the landscape, historic environment and waterscape of the park. - To safeguard the countryside of the Park from inappropriate development. Where development is permissible the Park will encourage the highest possible standards of design. - To conserve and enhance biodiversity through the protection and management of species, habitats and geological features in the Park. - To provide opportunities for countryside recreation and ensure that facilities are accessible to all. - To achieve a vibrant and sustainable rural economy, including farming and forestry, underpinning the value of this precious area of countryside. - To encourage community participation including volunteering and environmental education, and promote the benefits of health and social well-being afforded by access to high quality green space.

Special Olympics GB provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of skills, gifts and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

This is a volunteering opportunity for professionals who work within the food and grocery industry only. As part of our focus on early careers, our employability programmes help school students develop the skills they need to succeed in the workplace and brings to life the wide range of food and grocery careers, helping our industry to develop a skilled talent pipeline for the future. We have opportunites for those in industry to support our employability workshops. Anyone from across the food and consumer goods industry is welcome to take part, from CEO to Apprentice! We want to show the breadth of our industry. 1 hour time commitment You will be one of up to four volunteers from industry. You’ll talk about your career journey, your job role, and what skills you use everyday at work. There are workshops running 11:00-12:00 and 13:45-14:45 on the following dates: - September 24th - October 3rd, 9th, 16th, 17th, 22nd - November 6th, 20th, 21st, 27th - December 5th Please email volunteering@igd.com to offer your support
