Alpha Minds is a local mental health community organisation based in North Wales, dedicated to supporting people’s mental wellbeing and helping those in our community who need a little extra support. Alongside raising awareness around mental health and suicide prevention, we organise fundraising events, community projects and wellbeing initiatives throughout the year. We believe that looking after mental health also means looking after the wider needs of our community — including making sure people have access to basic essentials. A huge part of our work is supporting local foodbanks. Throughout the year, we run foodbank collection drives and appeal to our local community for donations of essential food, toiletries and household items. These donations are distributed to foodbanks across North Wales, including the Trussell Trust in Rhyl, Kings Store House in Rhyl, the Trussell Trust Abergele District and Conwy Foodbanks in Llandudno. We understand that financial hardship, food insecurity and mental health can often go hand in hand, which is why supporting local foodbanks is such an important part of what we do. Whether it’s helping a family put food on the table, providing essential toiletries or simply making someone’s difficult week a little easier, every donation can make a genuine difference. We also provide wellbeing packs and practical support to mental health services, homelessness projects and other community organisations. From filling foodbank collection points to organising fundraising events, providing wellbeing support and simply being there for people, everything Alpha Minds does is about one thing: showing people that they matter, they are not alone, and their community cares. 💙

The North Wales Women's Centre provides a safe place for women to access information, support, advocacy and training on issues relating to health, wellbeing, and work. We also provide an outreach service to women across Denbighshire and North Wales.

Abergele Community Shop has been developed by Abergele Community Action (registered charity number 1125169) with funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Aimed at helping people who are struggling with the increased cost of living or with a much lower level of disposable income, the Community Shop, which is based on Platform 1 (beach side) of Pensarn Station, will be a social supermarket with a difference. The Community Shop will redistribute food, consisting of high-quality products that have been supplied by FareShare. FareShare is the UK’s national network of charitable food re-distributors, made up of 18 independent organisations, taking good quality surplus food from right across the food industry and supplying frontline charities and community groups.
