Team Foodshare Rainworth, Blidworth and Surrounding areas was set up in 2017 by the Registered Charity The Social Action Hub in response to the growing need to support local communities who are suffering from food insecurity AND to tackle the ever growing food waste that is both frustrating and needless. Anyone can be a member! You can help us tackle the food waste by collecting perishable items from us, such as bread, fruit and vegetables, that are on or near their use by or best before date. Or you might find this weeks bills are making the budgeting tight and popping in will reduce the budget burden. We are open: Monday & Thursday 10am - 2pm Wednesday 12pm-3pm & 4pm-7pm Our service is not means tested, you do not have to be in receipt of benefits, we don’t need proof of income - We are open to all. - Shops & Local People donate items to our Social Supermarket they no longer need or are able to stock on their shelves. We also purchase surplus food at a reduced cost. Our baskets cost just £4.50 or £6 - depending on which one you choose. ALL food from Neighbourly donations are a part of our FREE section at The Social Supermarket as well as our Youth Community Fridge for Children & Young People.

We are a non-profit Community Investment Company based in Shirebrook, near Mansfield Nottinghamshire. Our group is volunteer led involving a range of people that live in and around Shirebrook.. Our aim is to improve the local community and surrounding areas by creating the conditions that allow people to come together to help and support one another. We support some of the most disadvantaged families in Shirebrook via our food projects and also pass on household items to people in need. We run a Community Fridge - which is based in our community venue called The Hole in the Wall. All our food donations go into here and get shared out during our open sessions on Thursdays and Fridays. This is open to all. Please call in if you haven't already :) We also run a variety of activities and events throughput the year too, as well as our regular crafty chat group on Mondays, tea & toast group on Tuesdays and our art group on Fridays. All profits are invested back into both pre-existing and new initiatives. We have further ambitions to deliver on wider, community-based initiatives, that are derived from extensive research and have been co-designed with the local community, service partners and local businesses alike. At Brightside Housing, we are all about helping people get back on their feet. We offer safe, supported housing for those in Mansfield who are going through tough times—whether that’s facing homelessness, dealing with mental health struggles, or battling addiction. As a not-for-profit company, our mission is simple: to give people the support and dignity they deserve to rebuild their lives. We have several homes across Mansfield where our residents can feel safe and secure. We take great pride in the quality of our homes because we want our residents to not only feel safe but also proud of where they live. We believe that having a clean, well-maintained home is a key part of restoring dignity and stability in their lives. We work with local councils, community groups, and support agencies to make sure we’re reaching the people who need us most. Whether it’s help with budgeting, managing mental health, or just finding a way forward, we create personalized plans to help everyone get back on track and become more independent. But it’s not just about housing or surplus food. We’re committed to offering more—from emotional support to practical help like teaching life skills and providing guidance on managing day-to-day challenges. We’re really passionate about giving people the skills and help that they need to live independently and thrive. Of course, we can’t do this alone. We’re all about working with the community—local businesses, volunteers, and organizations—because we believe that when we work together, we can create real change. We’re always looking for support in many forms: surplus food, funding to continue our work, and volunteers who are willing to lend a hand and make a difference.
