ALDI MANSFIELD - LEEMING LANE SOUTH

We feed the homeless on a Wednesday night from 6.30pm at 24-26 Church Street Mansfield and give out food parcels consisting of breakfast items, tinned goods, items to add boiling water to such as noodles, soups, pasta etc. We provide much needed toiletries and sanitary products each week as well as offering access to clean clothes and shoes. We source camping items to make them a little more comfortable such as tents, sleeping bags, roll mats, tarpaulins, stoves and gas, cooking equipment, torches, lanterns etc. We can only do this with the continued support of the local businesses that already back us, but if other companies got involved we could do so much more.

We are a non-profit Community Investment Company based in Shirebrook, near Mansfield Nottinghamshire. The group is run by 3 directors and a group of local ambassadors. Our aim is to improve the local community and surrounding areas by creating the conditions that allow people to come together to help and support one another. We run a Community Fridge - which is open every week day in our community venue called The Hole in the Wall. We also run a variety of activities and events throughput the year. All profits are invested back into both pre-existing and new initiatives/events. We have further ambitions to deliver on wider, community-based initiatives, that are derived from extensive research and have been co-designed with the local community, service partners and local businesses alike. Team Foodshare Rainworth, Blidworth and Surrounding areas was set up in 2017 by the Registered Charity The Social Action Hub in response to the growing need to support local communities who are suffering from food insecurity AND to tackle the ever growing food waste that is both frustrating and needless. Anyone can be a member! You can help us tackle the food waste by collecting perishable items from us, such as bread, fruit and vegetables, that are on or near their use by or best before date. Or you might find this weeks bills are making the budgeting tight and popping in will reduce the budget burden. We are open: Monday & Thursday 10am - 2pm Wednesday 12pm-3pm & 4pm-7pm Our service is not means tested, you do not have to be in receipt of benefits, we don’t need proof of income - We are open to all. - Shops & Local People donate items to our Social Supermarket they no longer need or are able to stock on their shelves. We also purchase surplus food at a reduced cost. Our baskets cost just £4.50 or £6 - depending on which one you choose. ALL food from Neighbourly donations are a part of our FREE section at The Social Supermarket as well as our Youth Community Fridge for Children & Young People.
