Stapleford Community Group was set up to unify the community by organising projects to help make Stapleford a better place to live and work and also grow up in.

Broxtowe Community Projects runs a community food and nappy bank to alleviate poverty, especially food and fuel poverty and social isolation across Broxtowe. Our food bank is unique in that it is self referral, we ask no questions and do not require lengthy forms to be completed, our only criteria is that you live in the Broxtowe Borough Council area. This enables us to respond rapidly to requests, often being able to provide and deliver a food parcel the same day it is requested. Our food parcels are well thought out and are nutritionally balanced and include a variety of fresh food such as milk, cheese, eggs, bread, fresh fruit and vegetables, in addition to cupboards staples such as tins, packets and treats. We also provide baby care items including nappies, wipes and formula milk, toiletries, pet food and household cleaning items. We try to accommodate special diets and food allergies such as gluten free, dairy free, vegan and Halal. BCP is very grateful for all the support provided by our local community who generously donate food and money, fundraise and volunteer for our charity. We are members of FareShare and collect surplus food through the Neighbourly platform. We are always in need of new volunteers, we provide volunteer training and employ a Volunteer Coordinator so help and support is always available. Volunteers collect surplus food and bring it to the foodbank, help to prepare and pack food parcels, make deliveries, run our food bank drop-in sessions, provide support and advice to people in financial crisis, food & fuel poverty, as well as helping in the 'behind the scenes' roles of office admin and organisation. To help residents achieve a set standard of social purpose. Harvest Community Haven CIC provides food bank for the community. A warm space in the cold months for members of the community to sit and have a chat, a hot drink and talk to a friendly face. Support families who have children with toys, games, and activities, provide social engagement such as a youth club, over 55s group and Mother and Baby group. The organisation will act as a haven and a source of community engagement-multi-provisional hub also as a deterrent or a preventative tool with regards to tackling isolation and loneliness and by extension mental health related challenges will also be addressed especially among communities where mental health is a huge taboo subject.  Recreation and leisure services (e.g. Community library, community garden etc)  Community Café  Youth centres or empowerment projects  Network/collaborations with other local groups and organisations  Skills and training services  Health and social care services  Welfare or advisory services for vulnerable or disadvantaged people We operate from the Harvest Resource Centre at 154 Queens Road NG9 2FF We identify the people who use our services through word of mouth in the community, local collaborations with other agencies and projects such as social prescribers and support groups. We occasionally donate to a homeless shelter in Beeston and invite them to collect food items from where we operate., we share leaflets during outreaches and door to door visits and those who need the support engage with our services. We also support the community with friendly volunteers to lend a listening ear and chat to, many people are lonely and need company, Some people ask for prayer so we pray with them. We offer informal counselling and emotional support, Signpost people to the different services on the county website, We also offer academic support and career guidance from some of our volunteers who are lectures and Drs in their field of study. 2 times a year we run a community wardrobe (free clothing) for a few weeks. There are no charges for our services. We don't collect food from any supermarkets. We don't use any local press yet but we intend to publicize in the NG9 monthly magazine and other facebook communications - Nottingham We've uploaded some photographs to this page.
