ALDI BRADFORD - CLAYTON RD

Bradford Central Foodbank fed over 16,000 local people last year in food crisis by providing three days' emergency food and support and advice. Everyone who comes to us is referred by an organisation who is in contact with people so we know everyone who comes to us is hungry and in need of emergency food. Organisations such as social services, schools, doctors, charities, housing associations etc. We give emegency food parcels, we have a cafe and also we want to provide peple with hplistic advice so people can overcome the root cause of food crisis. We provide fuel grants, SIM cards, benefits advice, job coaching, DWP support, family legal advice, housing support. All our services are offered free of charge. We need all year round help with fundraising, either as a one-off event or on an ongoing basis - we always need funds to help cover food purchasing and operating costs. We rely on volunteers to deliver this service and regularly need extra help with the following activities: -warehouse sorting -parcel/hamper packing -supermarket collections -one off projects

The Halifax Community Fridge, is open daily enabling residents and businesses to share surplus food and for anyone to help themselves to quality food that would otherwise be wasted. Unlike food banks, the Halifax Community Fridge is not means-tested - it is available to anyone. It is also discreetly situated and avoids any stigma its users may otherwise feel. The Halifax Community Fridge launched in August 2020, and has remained open every-single-day since. We are open 365-days-a-year, and are a lifeline for up to 100 families each day. No questions are asked, everyone is welcome. Working alongside Neighbourly has enabled us to support our towns local supermarkets in drastically reducing their carbon footprint and food wastage, which in-turn has stopped our community from going to sleep hungry. The work of the Halifax Community Fridge extends beyond free food and drink, everything we do is free to the community that we love to serve. We offer free winter coats, free sanitary packs for females, free pet food to owners and pets in need, free household items to support families in need and so much more We feature regularly in local and national media, showing the incredible work of the community fridge project and how it has brought our community together. In doing so, we have redistributed millions of items of food and drink back into our local community. JKN Outreach was established in November 2018 with the purpose of supporting the most vulnerable members of society by providing access to food, clothing, and essential toiletries. We are a 100% volunteer-led and community-funded organisation, operating at grass-roots level from the heart of Bradford. Our work is driven by a commitment to alleviating hardship, promoting dignity, and ensuring that no individual or family in need is left without support. By mobilising local resources and fostering community spirit, we aim to deliver practical assistance and compassionate care to anyone who requires it.
