How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, ALDI has donated surplus food and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Cotgrave Community Kitchen

Nottingham, UK

We are a non profit making organisation providing meals to our local community. With the donations from Aldi, M&S and Lidl we are now providing food parcels for our local community. Our aim, post pandemic, is for a social eating event each week in the hope of getting our local residents to meet up for a coffee and cake at least once a week.

Rosie May Foundation

Nottingham, UK

The Rosie May foundation works to empower and strengthen communities in crisis, by developing sustainable projects to support vulnerable children and families both global and local. In our local community of Nottinghamshire we have most recently mobilised our resources to respond to the Covid-19 crisis by utilising Rosie the little Pink Tuk Tuk (usually used for fund-raising and educational events) to deliver fresh food, hot meals, medicines and importantly doorstep communication with a dose of good cheer to vulnerable people self isolating during lockdown. This programme is volunteer led and aims to give a sense of self worth to local people in wanting to help during the crisis and works to develop community cohesion. We will continue to develop this community outreach programme post Covid by working with local partners to scale and reach more socially isolated people and vulnerable families by partnering with local authority, community groups and schools. In Sri Lanka and Nepal, we protect and support children by strengthening families to prevent separation of children through abandonment to orphanages and trafficking. Vulnerable families are empowered to lift themselves out of poverty through education and income generating programmes. During the pandemic we have fed over 1,000 women and their families by prviding emergency food parcels during lockdown.
