We are a non-profit Community Investment Company based in Shirebrook, near Mansfield Nottinghamshire. Our group is volunteer led involving a range of people that live in and around Shirebrook.. Our aim is to improve the local community and surrounding areas by creating the conditions that allow people to come together to help and support one another. We support some of the most disadvantaged families in Shirebrook via our food projects and also pass on household items to people in need. We run a Community Fridge - which is based in our community venue called The Hole in the Wall. All our food donations go into here and get shared out during our open sessions on Thursdays and Fridays. This is open to all. Please call in if you haven't already :) We also run a variety of activities and events throughput the year too, as well as our regular crafty chat group on Mondays, tea & toast group on Tuesdays and our art group on Fridays. All profits are invested back into both pre-existing and new initiatives. We have further ambitions to deliver on wider, community-based initiatives, that are derived from extensive research and have been co-designed with the local community, service partners and local businesses alike. We exist "worship God" Father, Son, Holy Spirit. "love others" through community church family activities, discipleship, relationships. children / youth / missions support. encouragement/sense of belonging/ purpose through volunteer opportunities. "bless community" through provision of cafe, garden, food bank, community outreach for homeless and those with addictions/restore clothes shop. We also provide accommodation for vulnerable adults.

Staveley Foodbank is run and operated by Edge Ministries, a Christian mission organisation that both speaks of and demonstrates the love of God as seen in Jesus Christ. Staveley Foodbank is here to help people who are in need and are struggling to feed themselves and their family. We use food parcels as a way of opening up a lifeline of hope and help into our community and offer various other projects for people to get involved with- all run in the Edge Centre with the aim of providing a wholistic approach to facing life’s struggles. Wednesday Mornings are more than just a drop in opportunity for people to access food, we also provide a welcoming café environment where people are encouraged to take time to sit in the warm, grab a brew and chat to our friendly volunteers. We rely on donations from the public, as well as local businesses and are working very hard to collect from anywhere and everywhere.
